Travellers from over 60 visa waiver countries, including the UK, will need an ETA and tourists can apply for one from July 1. An ETA will cost NZ $9 (£4.50) via an app, or NZ $12 (£6) through an online application and will last up to two years. Passengers transiting through New Zealand will also need an ETA.

Exemptions: Australian citizens will be exempt, however Australian permanent residents will need to hold an NZeTA visa but will not be required to pay for an International Visitor Conservation and Tourism Levy (IVL).
