Recommended Reading to Gatwick taxi services? The Vauxhall Vivaro has, over the years, earnt itself a hard-won reputation as being one of the best panel vans in the UK. However, in 2019, Vauxhall pushed its efficient workhorse into the family car market with the launch of the Vivaro Life. And it’s become an important success for the British carmaker. Much of the success of the Vivaro Life comes from the fact it shares most of its technology and oily bits with the excellent Citroen SpaceTourer. As a result, you get a large and comfortable people carrier that can carry between five and nine people (depending on which model you choose). Little wonder, perhaps, that Vauxhall’s large MPV is so popular with airport shuttle firms and taxi drivers. Like the SpaceTourer, the Vivaro Life is offered with some of the best 1.5 and 2.0-litre diesel engines in the business, with advertised economy exceeding 50mpg. Standard equipment is equally high across the range with entry-level models getting Bluetooth, steering column-mounted audio and phone controls, cruise control, electric door mirrors and a pair of side sliding doors.
A West End neighbourhood with a somewhat sleazy history, that now teems with drinkers and diners on its pedestrianised streets. Soho’s iconic and long-standing businesses need your support right now. Plus, the hedonistic spirit of the area lives on in its streets – despite a 10pm curfew. That’s why we’ve named it the coolest neighbourhood in the capital right now. Grade-II listed pub The French House. Charles de Gaulle used it as a base in exile during World War II, Dylan Thomas and Francis Bacon both drank here and beer, famously, is only ever served in halves.
If time permits or if you check in extra early, consider dining at the airport restaurants instead of having to put up with a doubtful plane meal. Airport restaurants are improving. It is also more cost effective and can help with jet lag. Just think, you can have a comfortable seat and plenty of elbow room for cutting your steak! If you are not in a first class lounge, it might be difficult to find a quiet spot. However, look for a religious symbol and follow that. Airport chapels of various denominations are usually provided. They are almost always very quiet. You can sleep or meditate there. Airports in the Middle East tend to have public shower facilities near the chapels or prayer rooms. Frankfurt airport has several chapels catering to Jewish, Christian and Muslim travelers.

First up, there’s the largest Royal Park in London — Richmond Park. This park is located a fair way southwest of the city and makes a great day trip from London, especially if the weather is pleasant. This space is world-famous for being home to 600 wild deer. Keep an eye out for these majestic creatures, though don’t get too close — especially over summer — when mother deer will fiercely protect their young. Richmond Park also has a wonderful view of St Paul’s Cathedral from a vantage point on the western side of the park. It’s so big you could walk for miles within the park’s many walking trails. Being so large, Richmond Park can be accessed from several train stations — it’s about a 20-minute walk from Richmond tube station (District line and London Overground). You can also take a Richmond train from Waterloo station and get off at Norbiton and then a 15-minute walk from the south edge of the park. Richmond Park is open from 7 a.m. in summer and 7:30 a.m. in winter, closing at dusk each day.
Gatwick airport is often overlooked when it comes to the array of airports available in London. However, I absolutely love Gatwick for so many different reasons, not just because Ryanair flies there from Dublin (£30 return, living the dream). Here’s my guide to Gatwick Airport and all my best tips and tricks for hassle-free transit/trip. Getting from Gatwick to the city centre and vice versa is no trouble at all with the train station attached to the South Terminal. You can walk straight from arrivals in the South Terminal to the train station in about 3 minutes.
If you get yourself to Heathrow Airport with plenty of time to spare, you can escape the crowds in one of the many lounges dotted around the airport. However, unless you have a membership of a loyalty program or you’re traveling business class, you have to pay to enter. We recommend the No 1 Lounge at terminal 3 to retreat for a couple of hours before your departure. Sometimes, if you’re planning on purchasing a newspaper, accessing the Wi-Fi and splurging on drinks and food, it’s cheaper to pay for the lounge and get it all for free. You’ll also be able to enjoy some stunning views of the runway while you wait to be called to your gate for departure. Read even more info at https://www.airporttransfersonline.co.uk/.
